Bill Braxton is a managing director in Client Solutions & Capital Markets at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. In this role, he has primary coverage responsibilities for institutional investors in the Southwest region of the US, including US public pension plans, nonprofits, corporate pensions, endowments, and foundations. Bill joined Goldman Sachs as a managing director in 2022. Prior to joining the firm, Bill was a managing partner and founder of Pacenote Capital, a boutique placement agent, focused on capital solutions for independent sponsors and emerging private equity managers. Before that, he held senior distribution roles at Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney and Strauss (BHMS); Crestline Investors; and Merrill Lynch. Bill began his career working as a financial analyst at IBM.
Bill is a board member of the Investment Diversity Advisory Council, an organization focused on convening institutional investors and managers to discuss measurable ways to promote diversity across the industry and in investment decisions. He is the former board chair of both the Texas Alternative Investment Association (TAIA) and Volunteer Now. TAIA is a nonprofit organization, developed to promote the understanding of the alternative investment industry and dialogue between the regional members of the investment community, through education and communication. Volunteer Now is a nonprofit organization, which connects thousands of North Texas nonprofits with volunteers and provides a wide range of programs and services. Bill earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and an MBA, with a dual concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurship, from the Wharton School of Business.
